The GeoIDEALab (Geospatial Innovation, Development & Environmental Applications) in the Dept. of Geosciences at Auburn University is looking for a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) who wishes to pursue an MS in Geography starting in January 2022.

The selected candidate will investigate the use of geospatial technologies to enhance the understanding of spatial and temporal distributions of Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) in freshwater systems in the southeastern US. They will gain experience in geospatial data collection and management, the use and development of cutting-edge geospatial methodologies, and scientific writing in the form of a thesis and manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Qualifications: Applicants should have a BS or BA in Geography, Ecology, Environmental Science, or related discipline. The selected candidate should have prior GIS and remote sensing experience and a strong interest in environmental applications. Experience with drone data collection is considered an asset.
