The USDA, ARS, National Soil Erosion Research Laboratory, West Lafayette, Indiana is seeking for a Supervisory Soil Scientist/Agricultural Engineer/Hydrologist. As a Research Leader (RL), the incumbent is responsible for leadership and line authority over scientists while fostering a highly collaborative and cohesive research team within the unit with solid local, regional, and national external collaborations. The RL is responsible for supporting and establishing quality mentorships for personnel assigned to the unit. The Research Leader conducts personal and team research in one or more of the following areas: erosion science and modeling; developing new and innovative research tools to address erosion science and predicting technologies; climate change and hydro-geochemical processes affecting sediment and chemical transport, soil and water quality assessment; or tools or management practices to reduce pollutants in the environment.
