As part of a University-wide strategic focus on climate and livability, the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) is inviting applications from high-caliber individuals who want to push knowledge boundaries and build world-leading research programs that will bring new insights, solutions and focus to the global climate and livability challenge.

We are looking for trailblazers that will help to build this important initiative and deliver solutions to a region that is at the forefront of multi-sectoral climate driven risks.

In the first of a number of opportunities that will be advertised over the coming 12-24 months, we are inviting applications from leading individuals in the following research areas:

These roles offer the opportunity to explore the cross-sectoral influences of climate change in a multi-disciplinary research environment. Their focus will be to investigate and implement approaches that seek to alter the current trajectory of climate change and navigate the region towards a more sustainable future.

Please apply using the Interfolio links associated with each position. Candidates applying for a position at the Assistant Professor level should illustrate their potential for high-impact research. Candidates applying for Associate and Full Professor positions should possess a distinguished track record in research and a strong commitment to service and teaching at the graduate level. 

Applications should include a cover letter, a CV that contains a list of publications, as well as a concise statement of research vision and plans (maximum 2 pages) and teaching interests (1 page). The names and contact details of at least three (and up to five) referees is also requested. While the position is open rank, there is a preference for junior candidates. Applications will be evaluated as soon as they are received, with the position remaining open until it is filled.
