The Water Resources Graduate Program at Oregon State University invites applications for full-time MS and PhD students starting in September of 2022.  Degrees are offered in Water Resources Policy, Water Resources Science, and Water Resources Engineering.  We seek students interested in contributing to a diverse, welcoming, and innovative intellectual environment.  We use holistic admissions criteria in the admissions process; GRE scores may be provided but are not required.

Financial support is available for both MS and PhD students, and includes Graduate Fellowships and Graduate Assistantships that provide a full tuition and mandatory fees, as well as a generous health insurance subsidy. Several Graduate Fellowships (such as the Promising Scholar and Diversity Advancement Fellowships) are available to recruit students from backgrounds that are underrepresented in graduate education. Supplemental research and travel funding is available on a competitive basis from the program as well as the OSU Graduate School. Applicants must have a baccalaureate degree in a field related to their degree program (engineering, science or policy – see our website for details).

Faculty scholarship covers a broad spectrum of disciplines and departments, with strengths in public policy, forest engineering, environmental engineering, biological and ecological engineering, river engineering and restoration, geography and geospatial science, cultural anthropology, stream ecology, hydrological and surface processes, hydrogeology and critical zone processes, and more. For more information about this interdisciplinary graduate program, faculty research areas and opportunities, and the individual graduate degree programs, please visit the Water Resources Graduate Program website, or contact the Graduate Program Director Dr. Mary Santelmann (gradwater-director@oregonstate.edu).

OSU commits to inclusive excellence by advancing equity and diversity in all that we do. We are an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer and particularly encourage applications from members of historically underrepresented racial/ethnic groups, women, and individuals with disabilities, veterans, LGBTQ community members, and others who demonstrate the ability to help us achieve our vision of a diverse and inclusive community.

Applications must be submitted online and are due by January 7, 2022 for Fall 2022 program entry for those who wish to be considered for all financial support opportunities. Details about the application process and priority deadlines can be found on the Graduate School website.  Applications should be submitted online – start here.
