The position links research groups within the Institute of Earth Sciences, and campus-wide with research groups in Environmental Physics, Geography as well as other cooperating entities such as the Heidelberg Center for the Environment (HCE) and the Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Computing (IWR). The candidate is expected to establish a primarily externally funded research program and to participate in academic self-government.

Prerequisites for application are a university degree, a doctoral degree and (in accordance with Article 47, paragraph 2 of the Higher Education Law of the State of Baden-Württemberg) a Habilitation, a successfully evaluated junior professorship, or equivalent merits.

Applications including standard documents (curriculum vitae; copies of diplomas; lists of publications and external funding; teaching and research statements) should be submitted in English and are requested in electronic form (as a single PDF document) by December 05, 2021. Applications should be sent to the dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Earth Sciences of Heidelberg University, Prof. Dr. J. Glückler, E-Mail: Dekanat-ChemGeo@uni-heidelberg.de.
