The University of Michigan’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) invites applicants for a faculty position in the general area of environmental engineering. This search is at any rank and applicants from all environmental engineering subdisciplines are encouraged to apply. The preferred start date is August 29, 2022. We seek candidates demonstrating exceptional innovation and creativity and who are interested in areas that align with the CEE Department’s strategic directions: Human Habitat Experience; Shaping Resource Flows; Adaptation; Autonomy; and Smart Infrastructure Finance. To be considered for this position, a PhD (or equivalent) degree or current enrollment in a PhD-granting program is required. A successful candidate would be encouraged to collaborate with researchers in other departments and colleges across the University and to show abilities to translate fundamental advances into practice. At the associate and full professor levels, a strong record of student mentoring and teaching of courses that complement the CEE undergraduate and graduate curricula is expected. Candidates at all ranks are expected to develop new courses.
