The Department of Marine and Coastal Environmental Science (MCES) at Texas A&M University at Galveston invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track faculty positions with a 9-month academic appointment at the Assistant Professor level. We encourage applications from outstanding candidates who focus on coastal science and resilience, broadly meaning examination of the natural dynamics of coastal and marine systems and their vulnerability to climate change. Successful candidates will develop and maintain externally-funded, independent research programs and contribute to undergraduate and graduate programs through teaching and mentorship of students. We welcome applicants with strong interest in collaborative and interdisciplinary research. The MCES department comprises a dynamic and interdisciplinary faculty with research interests in natural, social and applied scientific problems within coastal systems, but broader research interests span the near shore zone to the deep sea and polar environments. A detailed description of the MCES department is available at: https://www.tamug.edu/mars/.
