Department of Environmental Science
The Department of Environmental Science (https://www.ues.pku.edu.cn/english/departments/departmentofenvironmentalscience/index.htm)seeks faculty members at the assistant, associate, and full Professor levels, beginning immediately.
The department now has 18 faculty members whose research interest includes biogeochemical cycling of carbon and other elements, environmental and health consequences of emissions of air pollutants and greenhouse gases, climate and air pollutant interactions, as well as fate and toxicity of environmental contaminants. The department is seeking applications for tenure-track and permanent faculty positions in all disciplines of environmental sciences with preferences in carbon cycling, climate change – energy – multi-compartment environment nexus, and physical/chemical/health processes of environmental pollution.
The university offers internationally competitive salaries commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applicants must hold a PhD degree in above fields, preferably with at least 2 years of post-doctoral experience, cross-discipline research capability, and teaching experience. Successful candidates should have excellent research background. They are expected to establish an independent research program and provide education opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate of the department. Department of Physical Geography and Natural Resources
The Department of Physical Geography and Natural Resources (https://www.ues.pku.edu.cn/english/departments/departmentofphysical/index.htm) seeks excellent talents at the assistant, associate, and full Professor levels for expanding the breadth of our research areas. We welcome applicants from different areas of physical geography including but not limited to hydrology, soil science, geomorphology, climate change, paleoclimate, ecosystem service, natural resource management, remote sensing, GIS, land-atmosphere interaction, integrated geography, sustainability science and earth system science.
Positions can be filled as tenured or tenure-track professorship at the levels of Full Professor, Associate Professor or Assistant Professor, or as research professorship at the levels of Research Professor, Research Associate Professor or Research Assistant Professor. We also open soft money-based research positions at different levels. Successful candidates for the tenured or tenure-track professorship are responsible to develop and lead an internationally competitive team and teach 2 courses per year at the undergraduate or graduate levels. Successful candidates for research professorship are expected to participate in the research of a group.
