MS or PhD Assistantship in *Urban Ecohydrology and Land-Atmosphere Interactions*

A fully funded graduate assistantship is available at Washington State University in Vancouver, WA for research in: 
Urban Ecohydrology and Land-Atmosphere Interactions or related topics of Urban Environmental Modeling, Remote Sensing Data Analytics, Urban Climatology, Urban-Rural Land Cover Change, Ecophysiology, etc. Specific thesis/dissertation foci will be determined collaboratively by the students and the primary supervisor, Dr. Kevan Moffett.

GREs are welcome but not required.

Required preparation: BS or MS in a relevant science-math-engineering field, prior college-level calculus (or higher), physics, biology, or chemistry, and some time at an English-speaking institution of research or higher education. Desired: experience with the water cycle and familiarity with the surface energy balance and surface solar radiation balance; experience with numerical modeling, spatial analysis, and/or code-based large-data set analysis; prior academic, research, or extracurricular experaience showing self-motivation and somewhat independent project management; deep curiosity and scientific creativity; resilience.

Enrollment anticipated 16-August-2022 with potential for paid 'ramp-up' lab and field assistantship for a few weeks prior. Degree will be MS in Environmental Science or PhD in Environmental and Natural Resource Sciences. Full funding of tuition, stipend, and benefits will be guaranteed for sufficient time to complete the degree. Enrollment will be on the R1 Washington State University Vancouver (WSUV) campus among the extremely productive, interdisciplinary, and collaborative natural science research cluster. Students will take up residence in Washington State near Vancouver, WA, a fantastic city located in Southwest Washington, between the coast and the Cascades mountains and just across the Columbia River from vibrant Portland, Oregon.
