The USDA, Agricultural Research Service, Pasture Systems and Watershed Management Research Unit in East Wareham, Massachusetts, is seeking a POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (Soil Scientist), GS-11, for a TWO YEAR APPOINTMENT. Ph.D. is required. Salary is funded with annual federal appropriations and commensurate with experience ($71,987 - $93,588 per annum) plus benefits. Citizenship restrictions apply.
USDA-ARS is currently investigating nitrogen (N) cycling in soils of cranberry farms. Research led by the incumbent will evaluate net mineralization and nitrification rates in cranberry agriculture. Incumbent will be expected to:
- Write peer-reviewed publications and present results at national and international conferences;
- Develop research on N cycling in cranberry agriculture;
- Contribute to collaborate research on water quality of Buzzards Bay.
