Princeton University invites applicants for an assistant professor position in the field of sustainable energy and environmental science, engineering, and technology in the Andlinger  Center for Energy and the Environment ( We invite candidates from all disciplines in engineering and the sciences to apply. The successful candidate will be jointly appointed between the Andlinger Center and an academic department consistent with the candidate's expertise.  

We are specifically interested in candidates with a strong track record and expertise in decarbonizing industries, such as chemicals, fuels, materials, and water beyond the power sector. The areas of interest will build strength in, for example, new synthetic pathways for renewable plastics, hydrogen production, and storage, water treatment with renewable electricity, waste carbon valorization, metals manufacturing, or technologies to eliminate and reduce emerging environmental contaminants related to the energy industry. This opportunity is open to applicants from broader areas in energy and the environment, including data science and sustainable and resilient infrastructure systems related to the broader decarbonization goals. 

We are particularly interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research,  teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of our academic community.
