The Department of Geography and Environmental Studies at Texas State University invites applications for the Meadows Endowed Chair in Water Conservation. Applicants must have academic credentials and an established scholarship record that merit the rank of Full Professor in the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies. Associate Professors with three or more years in rank and an established record are also encouraged to apply for appointment at the associate professor level. We seek individuals with exceptional records as scholars and educators in conducting research and addressing policy issues related to the planning, management, conservation, and efficient use of water resources in the context of global change and One Water concepts. This position offers an opportunity to lead research and outreach on grand challenges regarding water resources use and management in Texas and beyond. The position also carries teaching and student mentoring responsibilities. The successful hire will fill the role of Chief Conservation Officer with the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment where they will receive additional resources and support. The Meadows Center is a university-level center with a mission to inspire research and leadership to ensure clean, abundant water for the environment and all humanity.
