Grassland Ecology - Research Assistant
Description:
We are seeking a temporary research assistant (RA; graduate or undergraduate degree in Botany, Ecology, or related fields) to participate in data collections for two projects: An international network (BugNet) and a NASA-funded project. The RA will be expected to conduct field botanical surveys to identify grassland plant species and soil sampling at two locations: The McPherson preserve in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and The Nature Conservancy’s Joseph H. Williams Tallgrass Prairie Preserve (https://www.nature.org/en-us/get-involved/how-to-help/places-we-protect/tallgrass-prairie-preserve/). There will be also opportunities to assist with other components of the projects, including leaf functional traits analyses, DNA extractions, and remote sensing.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work well in a collaborative setting Prior knowledge on grassland plant species Excellent written and oral communication skills Enthusiastic about grasslands Comfortable with working in remote but collaborative settings Valid driver license
Timeline:
Target start date is June 01, 2022.
Pay:
Pay is commensurate with qualifications.
