The Geological Engineering program at the Missouri University of Science and Technology is seeking an outstanding applicant to pursue a Ph.D. in geological engineering with an emphasis in near-surface geophysics.  The successful applicant will conduct research in hydrology and geophysics and will also assist with field trips in a teacher education program.

We are seeking applicants with a BS or MS in geological engineering, geophysics, earth sciences, or a related discipline.  The applicant must be strong quantitatively, a clear communicator, and able to conduct field work independently.  Research activities will include acquiring, processing, and interpreting data from ground- and UAV-based platforms as well as conventional soil measurements.  Knowledge of GIS is required, and familiarity with Python or other programming language is preferred.  The preferred start date is Fall 2022.
