The Hawai‘i Institute of Geophysics and Planetology, (HIGP), University
of Hawai‘i at Mānoa (UHM), seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant
Researcher. We seek applicants with expertise in the development of Cube
Satellite technology, in support of Earth and planetary science
missions. This is a permanent, full time (100% FTE) tenure-track
position with nine months per year of state support. The appointee will
be required to raise the remaining 3 months of their salary support from
extramural grants and contracts. The appointment will be made at the
assistant level (R3M11; position number 85004).


HIGP is a multi-disciplinary unit in the School of Ocean and Earth
Science and Technology (SOEST) at UHM, a R1 research university and
Minority Serving Institution with a very diverse and multicultural
environment.

HIGP is engaged in research, technology development, teaching, workforce
training, and service in cutting-edge planetary sciences, materials
science and mineral physics, cosmochemistry, small satellite engineering
and instrument development and geophysics. HIGP maintains a diverse faculty.

The successful candidate shall establish a vigorous and extramurally
funded research program, shall advise, mentor, and teach at the
undergraduate and graduate level, and shall publish research results in
the refereed literature.
