PhD position in Coastal Hydrodynamic Modeling
The Environmental Hydrodynamics Lab at the Colorado School of Mines is seeking a PhD student interested in coastal physical oceanography or hydrodynamic modeling to work on the development and improvement of coastal forecast products. This project is funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), which seeks to advance the next-generation coastal ocean models.
Interested students should have a BS or MS in engineering, oceanography, geophysics, or other relevant fields. Previous experience in computer modeling, surface water, or meteorology would be beneficial. The successful applicant will become a member of Civil & Environmental Engineering Department or the Hydrologic Science & Engineering Program at the Colorado School of Mines. Mines is located along the front range of the Rocky Mountains in beautiful Golden, Colorado and is home to faculty and students with a wide range of interests in Earth sciences. The Graduate Research Assistantship covers tuition, health insurance, fees, and stipend.
