The Taylor Geospatial Institute (TGI), the nation’s leading academic center for geospatial science, is committed to making St Louis a global center of excellence in geospatial science research, education, and innovation. The Institute is seeking to fill 8 Postdoc positions this year that is designed to support local faculty in their research projects in core geospatial science and applied domains (www.taylorgeospatial.org/research/).

The successful applicants will support faculty in their research projects and promote collaborations in the St. Louis region in core geospatial science and applied domains. This cohort of 6 postdocs is part of a series of initiatives by the TGI to accelerate the St Louis region’s development as a national center for geospatial science. Ideal candidates would have a Ph.D. in geospatial science or a related field applied to food systems, health systems, and national security. These individuals selected should have strong technical expertise and computing skills.  The candidates are expected to have a record of scholarly research and publications, and a strong desire and ability for publications and grant proposal writing. Recent Ph.D. degrees in Geospatial Science, Geoinformatics, Geography, Computer Science, or related areas with strong geospatial skills are desired.

The position offers a nationally competitive salary and other benefits totaling $87,000 per year. Applicants must be willing to relocate to Saint Louis University or one of the affiliated partner institutions. The position is for one year and can be renewed based on performance.
