Assistant Professor in Paleoclimate

 

 

The Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at the University of California, Davis, seeks an outstanding scholar in paleoclimate science, with preference for those whose research examines interconnections among processes in an Earth systems framework. Candidates are encouraged to describe how their scholarly activities may address modern climate change, potential mitigation strategies, or other societal implications of their work. The successful candidate will have opportunities for expanding interdisciplinary links within the department as well as across campus. The successful candidate will be appointed as an academic year (9 month) tenure track Assistant Professor and must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in Earth sciences or a related field by the time of appointment. They will be expected to maintain an active research program and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. The teaching load will average 3 quarter-long courses per year.
