About the Opportunity

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Northeastern University seeks outstanding candidates to fill a full-time non-tenure-track Teaching Professor position at the assistant, associate, or full teaching professor level with a focus on sustainable engineering solutions for challenges within the broad range of civil and environmental engineering applications including but not limited to novel green materials, innovations in structural design (e.g., dematerialization, use of low-carbon materials, design for redevelopment/retrofitting), carbon sequestration, renewable energy integration with urban infrastructure systems, innovation in construction, and climate adaptation and resilience in the built environment. Priority will be given to approaches that co-optimize with equity, environmental health, and environmental justice and/or with expertise that is aligned with university core foci such as AI/data science, urban sustainability, coastal systems, robotics, and use-inspired research. The intent of this broad search is that the Teaching Professor will support the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering's ongoing innovation in engineering curricula to meet future challenges facing global societies such as climate change, sea level rise, and continued urban population growth.
