Northwestern University
The Center for Water Research and the Center for Optimization & Statistical Learning at Northwestern University invite applications for a postdoctoral fellow with research interests in statistical analysis of time-series data, optimization, and epidemiology or environmental systems. The postdoctoral fellow will join a regional research consortium developing methods to use SARSCOV-2 measurements from wastewater to guide public health decisions. The applicant will work most closely with a team of applied mathematicians and engineers from Civil & Environmental Engineering, Engineering Sciences & Applied Mathematics, and Industrial Engineering & Management Sciences, who are developing data-analysis and modeling frameworks, in collaboration with molecular biologists and public health departments. Applicants should have a PhD in statistics, applied math, data science, computer science, operations research, or a related field. Experience in statistical analysis is preferred. The applicant is not expected to be an expert in the subject area or in all analytic techniques but should be curious and interested in working as part of a team. To apply please send a cover letter, CV, brief description of research interests, pointers to selected publications, and a list of three references with contact information to water@northwestern.edu.
Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled, but submission by 08/15/2022 will ensure full consideration.
As per Northwestern University policy, successful applicants will need to submit to a criminal background check prior to employment.
