We are looking for a post-doctoral fellow with expertise in climate modelling to provide climate model projections of key cryosphere variables (snow, freshwater ice, sea ice) and their drivers (temperature, precipitation) at the regional and community-level scales across the Canadian Arctic that can be used to better understand the impacts, risks, and adaptation options available to support safe local and regional marine and overland mobilities. This is a transdisciplinary project with active collaboration from Chris Derksen, Steve Howell, and Lawrence Mudryk from Environment and Climate Change Canada, Jackie Dawson from the University of Ottawa, and Iestyn Woolway from Bangor University.

Funding is available for 2 years. The successful applicant will have a PhD in ecology, limnology, applied statistics, climate science, or a relevant field, experience harmonizing large datasets collected from different sources, technical expertise acquiring and analysing large-scale climate data, advanced data analytical skills in R, Python, or Matlab, and the ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team.

Applications will be reviewed as they are received. The position will remain open until filled. Applicants should submit a cover letter detailing their relevant background and experiences, a CV, and names and contact information for three references. We thank all applicants for their interest. However, only those individuals selected for an interview will be contacted.  Inquiries about the position and applications may be sent to Sapna Sharma at sharma11@yorku.ca.
