The successful candidate is expected to develop a vigorous, innovative, externally funded research program, contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching and supervise M.S. and Ph.D. students. Candidates will be expected to support the learning needs of students from diverse backgrounds and demonstrate a commitment to engaging communities underrepresented in the geosciences. The successful candidate will collaborate as part of a diverse faculty with specialties spanning the geosciences and core strengths in disciplines relating to energy and the environment. Collaborations with interdisciplinary programs are also encouraged such as our Professional Science Master’s program and our National Ground Water Association University program.

The School has state-of-the-art laboratories equipped with analytical instruments and computer hardware and software to facilitate learning and research in the School’s areas of specialization. The School has equipment for field acquisition of geological and geophysical data, a core facility for processing samples, and operates a field camp facility near Cañon City, Colorado. The School has significant geochemistry and microscopy laboratories. The School also has licenses for a range of geologic modeling and visualization software systems. Additional details can be found under ‘Facilities’ in the ‘Research’ menu at geology.okstate.edu.
