A Research Scientist I Position is available at the Natural Resource Ecology Laboratory of Colorado State University. Early career scientists are encouraged to apply that are interested in development, evaluation and application of ecosystem models with a focus on soil N cycling. The new hire will work with a group of scientists led by Dr. Stephen Ogle to advance modeling of greenhouse gas emissions from agricultural lands for reporting to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The position responsibilities include advancing process-based modeling of soil N cycling, collaboration with other team members and project partners, and communicating results by publishing manuscripts in peer-review journals. The position requires a Ph.D. in ecology, ecosystem science, soil science or related field, and author on peer-review publication(s) that presents original research in ecosystem science. Preferred qualifications include 1) Post-doctoral experience, 2) Experience with ecosystem model development and calibration, 3) Experience applying ecosystems model to simulate soil N cycling and/or C dynamics, and 4) Experience with R.
