The Graduate Program of Hydrologic Sciences (GPHS) is a multi-disciplinary program based at the University of Nevada, Reno and the Desert Research Institute (https://www.unr.edu/hydrologic-sciences).  The 60 year-old program has a long history of graduate education and cutting edge research in a variety of water-related fields.  The program plans to recruit and fund graduate students using research assistantships from individual faculty, research assistantships from the graduate school, and teaching assistantships.

 

Reno, Nevada has a high quality of life as the only urban center on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada mountains.  This provides access to cultural and city life, but also easy access to outdoor recreation in the Lake Tahoe area.
