Geography: Assistant Professor (tenure track) to teach/in Geography, maintain an active (externally-funded) research agenda, advise students, and provide service to the institution. The Assistant Professor will teach and conduct research related to Applied Geospatial Analysis. Competitive applicants will have expertise in innovative geospatial applications and techniques including (but not limited to) interactive digital/web-based GIS, participatory and/or community-based GIS, spatial statistics/ data visualization, open source methodologies, data analytics and/or drones. Applicants who apply geospatial techniques to topics that complement departmental strengths, potentially including climate and vulnerability, urbanization, landscape change, food systems, water resources, health disparities, or similar areas of inquiry are encouraged. This role will teach a sequence of geospatial courses from the introductory to advanced level that contribute to the department’s undergraduate and graduate programs. The successful candidate will play a key role in future iterations of the Geospatial Analysis Center (GAC) as a hub of geospatial research and outreach at Miami University by obtaining research grants and contracts as well as directing student internships. Appointment begins August 14, 2023.

Required: Ph.D. in Geography or closely related field by date of appointment.
