The Division of Environmental Studies and Geology in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Alfred University invites applications for a tenure-track position in geology at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2023. 


We are seeking candidates with disciplinary expertise in any area of geology or environmental geosciences. The successful candidate will be a teacher/scholar dedicated to effective teaching and able to develop a research program involving undergraduates. The required teaching duties include introductory-level geology courses and upper-division courses on topics that will interest a broad range of students. We require applicants to have a Ph.D. in geology, earth science, or related field prior to appointment. Candidates with a demonstrated interest in sustainability issues and/or remote sensing are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will teach 12 credits per semester. Additional teaching opportunities in the summer and winter breaks are available.
