Two Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Positions in the Area of Soil/Water Management and Hydrology-Climatology

Hydrology-Climatology Position # 002433TT-2023- SoE

The University of Windsor's School of the Environment, in the Faculty of Science, invites applications for a Tenure-Track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, in the atmospheric and climate science, with a strong background in process-based computational modeling, coupled atmosphere/lake modeling, and air-water interactions relevant to the Great Lakes region. The position focuses on an improved understanding on the Great Lakes’ role in a changing climate, through a combination of observations, theory, and modeling to inform adaptive management strategies and policies. This position is scheduled to commence July 1, 2023, subject to final budgetary approval and is being searched concurrently with a soil/water management position. 

Soil/Water Management Position # 002432TT-2023-SoE

The University of Windsor's School of the Environment, in the Faculty of Science, invites applications for a Tenure-Track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, in the area of soil/water management with a focus that includes management approaches for soil health and freshwater resources.  Expertise can include spatial approaches to soil health and water resources. Specific expertise in some combination of spatial and temporal changes to soil physical, chemical and/or biological properties with consideration of land-use and application to adaptive management strategies, quantification, and prediction of the effects of climate change and changing land and water use practices on Great Lakes water quality and quantity. This position is scheduled to commence July 1, 2023, subject to final budgetary approval and is being searched concurrently with a hydro-climatologist position.

The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in soil science/pedology, hydrology, resource management, environmental science or equivalent. Expertise in spatial science is desirable.  Successful candidates will be expected to mount a productive and integrative research program, obtain external funding, and participate actively in graduate and undergraduate research and teaching in the Environmental Science and Environmental Studies and related certificates (e.g., GISc).
