1) Assistant or Associate Professor in Environmental Engineering (Position #006305) We seek applicants who work at the frontiers of Environmental Engineering and can complement existing research expertise within the Department, the College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences, and the University. We seek candidates with interests that include, but are not limited to, water and wastewater treatment; recovery of beneficial products from wastes; environmental life cycle assessment; energy sustainability; circular economies; and the air quality-energy-transportation-climate nexus. Applicants should have at least one degree in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering and hold a PhD in Engineering or a closely related discipline or be enrolled in such a program at the time of application.

2) Assistant Professor in Engineering Mechanics and Materials (Position #004608) We seek applicants who work at the frontiers of their field in enhancing the sustainability and resilience of the built and natural environment. We welcome applicants in the general areas of mechanics, materials, and structural engineering that complement existing research expertise within the Department, the College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences, and the University. Topics of particular interest include, but are not limited to, computational mechanics, smart materials and structures, design of resilient infrastructure systems, mechanics of materials to support clean energy production, environmental applications, and cold-regions engineering. Applicants pursuing novel applications of machine learning, data science and robotics in design, construction and maintenance of infrastructure systems are welcomed.  The candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mechanics, materials, and structural engineering. Applicants should have earned at least one degree in Civil Engineering and hold a Ph.D. in an Engineering discipline or be enrolled in such a program at the time of application.
