We are looking for a postdoc candidate who will conduct research on improving urban hydrometeorology over global cities in association with the changing climate. This research will involve high-resolution meteorology and air quality simulations using Weather Research and Forecasting model coupled with Chemistry (WRF-Chem). In addition to developing models, the candidate will assimilate satellite and in-situ observations in order to improve understanding of processes affecting urban hydrometeorology.
This position is for a multiple year NSF project, but as always within the university system, the position is renewed one year at a time. The postdoc will have an opportunity to collaborate with multiple universities and research labs. As part of the postdoctoral position, the postdoc will also have the opportunity to contribute to broader research program activities, including proposal development and leading small projects. For more questions, please reach out to Ashish Sharma (sharmaa@uillinois.edu).
