The NMSU Agricultural Science Center located in Artesia, NM is searching for a dynamic scientist who may have the opportunity to serve as an innovative and collaborative leader with administrative responsibilities as a superintendent of the Sustainable Agricultural Science Center. An earned Ph.D. in irrigation engineering, agricultural engineering, biosystems engineering, civil engineering, hydrology, water resources science, soil science, horticulture, crop science, agronomy, or related discipline and qualifications for tenure and promotion at the rank of associate professor or professor in the department of Plant and Environmental Sciences is required. This is a tenure track, 12-month position. The successful candidate will interact with scientists and researchers at NMSU and throughout the state to develop and enhance production practices that New Mexico farmers could successfully implement. Research opportunities at the Center include assessing drought-, heat-, and salt-tolerant crops that will thrive in arid- and semi-arid environments, and alternative water resources and practices. She/he will have a faculty appointment in the Plant and Environmental Sciences Department at NMSU, have opportunities to work with other superintendents, and will collaborate with state-wide researchers and producers.
