Climate Modeling on the extratropical ocean-atmosphere interaction

Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) invites applications for a research associate III to study large-scale extratropical ocean-atmosphere interaction with a team of scientists on various projects by Young-Oh Kwon (WHOI) and the collaborators in multiple institutions including the National Center for Atmospheric Research. The projects aim to investigate the role of ocean dynamics and ocean-to-atmosphere feedback in the large-scale extratropical atmospheric and ocean variability, using climate model experiments as well as statistical analyses of observational and reanalysis datasets. The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of this research, while primarily responsible for designing, conducting, and analyzing climate model simulations.

Qualified applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, up to three relevant publications, and contact information for at least three professional references. Initial consideration will be given to applications received before January 1, 2023, but the position will remain open until it is filled.

For further information please contact Young-Oh Kwon (yokwon@whoi.edu).
