The WH Bryan PhD Scholarship in Earth Sciences is being offered for 2023 commencement. This is a fully funded PhD Scholarship, worth $170,000 total over 3 years, and includes $32,000/yr stipend for 3 years, $18,000/yr for research costs, and up to $20,000 to cover start-up costs (eg, airfares, health cover, moving costs).

The overall aim of the WH Bryan Scholarship is to advance the understanding of Queensland Earth Sciences, addressing a globally significant problem leading to impactful outcomes, with the supported project to be led by a high-quality PhD candidate. It commemorates the legacy of Professor WH Bryan MC who made many fundamental, impactful and diverse contributions to the geology of Queensland, tertiary education and societal well-being.

The scholarship is available to candidates undertaking their PhD studies at either Queensland University of Technology, the University of Queensland, or James Cook University in Queensland.
