Position Summary:

The Department of Environmental Studies at Rollins College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position, beginning August 2023. We seek a broadly trained teacher/scholar from a scientific field of study with an interest in environmental science to teach two lab-based general education science classes per semester. Applicants with a PhD in Environmental Science, Ecology, Physical Geography, Environmental Chemistry, or Environmental Geology are preferred, but those who are ABD are eligible to apply. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence in a liberal arts institution and working in a diverse and inclusive environment.

Minimum Qualifications and Education:

• Doctorate or ABD in Environmental Studies, Ecology, Physical Geography, Environmental Chemistry, or Environmental Geology.
• Commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence in general education courses.

Preferred
Qualifications:

• Prior teaching experience.
