Drs. Luke Pangle and Nadine Kabengi are recruiting an M.S. student to join them at Georgia State University in downtown Atlanta, GA, for fall 2023. The student will be working on a project focusing on the hydrology and biogeochemistry of small headwater streams in variably urbanized landscapes. The project is supported by funding from the Department of Energy and the student is encouraged to develop a research question that leverages facilities and sites at Oak Ridge National Lab, including potential field sites. There may be the option that the student can spend up to 12-weeks of summer 2024 at Oak Ridge.

The grant supports an annual salary for the GRA of $15,000 and there is a full tuition waiver. There is also funding to attend at least one conference. The student can pursue a degree with a concentration in either Water Science, Geology, or Geography, depending on interests, along with the ability to earn a certificate in GIS.
