The Nevada Mountain Ecohydrology Group in the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Science at the University of Nevada, Reno seeks multiple postdoctoral researchers in the fields of computational hydrology, remote sensing, and geophysics. One postdoctoral research position would be funded by the Center for Transformative Monitoring Program (CTEMPs) working on distributed temperature and acoustic sensing, unmanned aerial systems, and large field campaigns. Another post-doctoral researcher would be primarily working on forest hydrology and management issues in the Sierra Nevada and larger western U.S. on projects funded by the U.S. Forest Service and National Science Foundation. Both positions will interact with the NSF-funed Critical Zone Collaborative Network. The two year positions (with possibility of extension) offers flexibility in research interests and directions. Expectations are for high productivity in peer-review and related publications. The research group is a mix of post-docs, graduate students, technicians, and undergraduates. Opportunities exist for teaching and outreach around these subjects. The post-doctoral researcher will be expected to work closely with students and help manage larger research projects and workshops. Career development opportunities will be provided to ensure long-term success in their chosen field.
