The Stanford Science Fellows program invites applications from outstanding graduating doctoral students and early-career postdoctoral scholars committed to advancing foundational research in the natural sciences, working across disciplines with exceptional scholars from around the world, and bringing diversity of thought and experience to the global community of scientists.
Stanford’s top-ranked science and engineering departments, as well as its many interdisciplinary laboratories and research institutes—all situated in close proximity on campus—provide an unparalleled range of opportunities for collaboration. To support their research, Stanford Science Fellows have access to faculty and facilities in Stanford’s Schools of Humanities and Sciences, Engineering, Medicine, and Sustainability as well as at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.
Selection: Approximately ten new fellows will be chosen by faculty from departments and schools across the natural sciences. An important selection criterion is the commitment to enhancing demographic and intellectual diversity in Stanford’s scientific community.
Terms: Stanford Science Fellows are appointed for a term of three years. Fellows will receive an annual stipend of $88,000, benefits (including health insurance), $8,000 per year in supplemental funds to support research and professional development, and up to $2,000 in relocation expenses. The program includes community-building activities to foster professional development and leadership skills, as well as workshops, seminars, and informal discussions with Stanford faculty and visitors.
You may learn more about the program, meet the current fellows, and access the application at https://stanfordsciencefellows.stanford.edu/. Interested applicants must apply through Academic Jobs Online by October 13, 2023.
