The Department of Geosciences at the National Taiwan University (NTU) is seeking active and dedicated individuals to fill several faculty positions with an expected start date of August 1st, 2024. Candidates with a relevant Ph.D. degree, regardless of specialization, are invited to apply, but more favorable consideration will be given to those with expertise in the following areas: (1) Geo-materials/geo-resources (Mineralogy/Petrology/Ore deposits), (2) Geochemistry/Isotope Geochemistry (with preference for familiarity with accelerator mass spectrometry techniques and applications), (3) Structural Geology, (4) Hydrogeology, and (5) Sedimentology/Stratigraphy.

NTU is widely considered to be the most comprehensive and prestigious research university in Taiwan and ranks in the top 100 universities worldwide (QS). The main campus is located in downtown Taipei City which was recently named one of the World’s Friendliest and Safest Cities for Expats (InterNations 2022). Within Taipei there is easy access, through a world class transit system, to both a vibrant city life and a plethora of outdoor activities.

Moreover, the Department of Geosciences offers a dynamic and supportive working environment with a wide range of state-of-the-art research facilities. Generous start-up funding is available for new faculty members to facilitate their research endeavors. Outstanding candidates are encouraged to apply for special programs of the National Science and Technology Council with extra stipend and grants.
