The Department of Geography invites applications for a full time (9 month) tenure-track faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level in physical geography with an anticipated start date of Fall 2024. Applicants should have research and teaching interests in climate and human health. We are looking for candidates with expertise in human bioclimatology with a focus on topics such as extreme temperatures, thermal comfort, air pollution, and health impacts. 

Candidates should have an outstanding research program and a record of excellence in teaching, both relative to their career stage. Essential characteristics include publications commensurate with experience; demonstrated capability to secure external funding; and the ability to strengthen the graduate program in geography through course offerings and mentoring students. Candidates should have the potential for creating synergies with existing department strengths, must have a Ph.D. at the time of appointment, and a have strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching. This position is one of five tenure-track lines to be filled in the Department of Geography over the next two years as part of a foundational hiring program to recruit more than 100 tenured or tenure-track faculty in the new College of Arts and Sciences.
