Job Details
The Department of Geology at Wichita State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in mineralogy and/or petrology beginning August 2024. In particular, we seek a candidate with research expertise related to the occurrence, extraction, or use of critical minerals. In addition to developing an externally funded research program, successful candidates will be expected to teach introductory, major, and graduate level classes. The candidate must have a Ph.D. in the Geosciences, an established record of publication commensurate with the applicant's career stage and is expected to complement our existing departmental strengths in low-temperature geochemistry, hydrogeology, geospatial analysis, petroleum geology, sedimentology, stratigraphy, and structural geology and interact with broader segments of the WSU community.
Candidates must go on line at http://jobs.wichita.edu to apply for the position. Interested applicants should submit cover letter, curriculum vitae, statements of research and teaching interests, and contact information for at least three references. Applicants should also send copies of relevant publications to the Search Committee Chair, Department of Geology, 1845 Fairmount Ave., Wichita State University, Wichita, KS 67260-0027. We will begin review of applications after November 30, 2023; however, applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
