The Geochemistry / Chemical Engineering program at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL), Florida State University (FSU), seeks a postdoctoral researcher in single crystal and powder diffraction analysis. The candidate selected is expected to conduct research on the mineralogy and recovery of critical minerals, particularly rare earth elements. The initial appointment will be for one year, with renewal for up to two additional years conditional upon performance and availability of funding. Salary will be commensurate with experience.


A PhD in mineralogy, petrology, materials science, chemistry, or other field providing expertise in X-ray diffraction is required. Facilities available include dedicated state-of-the-art diffraction equipment with environmental controls.
