Preference will be given to applicants that have demonstrated success in securing external funding and in building collaborative research and teaching environments.

Potential candidates should have a terminal degree in geospatial science, geoinformatics, geographic information science (GIScience), or similar. Candidates with a Ph.D. in geography with a strong geospatial curriculum training during their graduate education, earned in the last 5 years, could also be considered with demonstrated geospatial research experience. Desired skills include Geodesy, Satellite Geodesy, Geodetic and Topographic Surveying, Gravimetry and Satellite Gravimetry, GPS/PNT, and/or GEOINT Applications in Geodetics; Desired topical areas include geoids, groundwater resources, climate change, gravimetry, and/or GEOINT.

The Saint Louis University Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences houses degree programs in Geoinformatics and Geospatial Analytics at the B.S. and Ph.D. levels, an M.S. in Geographic Information Science (GIScience), as well as programs in environmental science, geoscience, geophysics, and meteorology.  The successful candidates will be expected to contribute to all of those geospatial programs. Thus, Saint Louis University is seeking full-time, open rank faculty to teach on-ground Geographic Information Systems (GIS) courses in GIS, Remote Sensing, Geodesy, and Satellite Geodesy for the Geoinformatics B.S., GIScience MS, Geoinformatics PhD, and GIS certificate programs in the Earth and Atmospheric Sciences Dept. and School of Science and Engineering.

We promote a student-centered, science-oriented environment built on a foundation of inclusivity and focused toward addressing the major global challenges facing humans. We offer multiple bachelor's and master's degree programs with plans to continue growing locally, nationally and internationally.

Qualified applicants will be reviewed and contacted if an interview is desired. Applicants must possess an earned PhD degree and have experience successfully conducting geospatial research, securing grants, and leading college-level courses.
