The Department of Geosciences at Texas Tech University seeks candidates for a 10-month, fixed term, non-tenure track, position with expertise in Structural Geology beginning August 2024. The successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor and contribute to maintaining the university’s mission through teaching and supporting student success.
The successful candidate will teach a minimum of 4 courses (2 in the Fall and 2 in the Spring semester) including Structural Geology, which includes a 4-day field-trip (Fall semester), Introductory Physical Geology, will coordinate a Sedimentary Field Methods course (Spring semester), and the fourth course may be in their area of expertise that will serve majors and minors in the Geology degree program, which includes a concentration in Geophysics.
The successful candidate will have a strong track record of, or potential for, teaching excellence at the undergraduate level. The candidate should demonstrate knowledge of the current best practices in pedagogic methods, and should be up-to-date in their subject matter.
