We invite candidates interested in conducting postdoctoral research to apply for prestigious fellowships from the Jacob Blaustein Center for Scientific Cooperation (BCSC). Immerse yourself in the dynamic world of drylands and explore diverse topics such as desert ecology, solar energy, environmental physics, rainfed and irrigated agriculture, soil-plant-atmosphere interactions, hydrology, aquaculture, environmental microbiology, desalination, water treatment, biotechnology, and more. The BCSC offers two types of fellowship: Blaustein Fellowship Distinguished Blaustein Fellowship (maximum one per year) • Blaustein Fellows receive an annual stipend of approximately $26,000 USD (paid in NIS, the Israeli currency). • The Distinguished Blaustein Fellow receives an annual stipend of approximately $29,000 USD (paid in NIS), as well as a roundtrip air ticket and complimentary lodging in our dormitories. All applicants will automatically be considered for the Distinguished Fellowship, requiring no additional application materials. Who is eligible to apply? • Candidates must hold a PhD by the start date of the postdoctoral position. • The PhD degree must have been obtained within the past five years from the start date of the postdoctoral position. • Fellowships are not available to individuals who received their PhD at BGU. • Fellowships are granted for one year, and all recipients are eligible to apply for a second year. Important dates: • Deadline for applications: March 7, 2024. • Notification of decisions from the BCSC Steering Committee: May 2024.
