To fill this permanent, full-time, non-tenure-track position eligible for promotion and multi-year contracts, we are delighted to receive applications from scholars who have expertise in the soft-rock geosciences, environmental geosciences, or related fields to teach introductory geoscience courses and upper division/graduate courses.

Candidates are asked to identify their ability to teach courses and engage undergraduate researchers in fields/topics in soft-rock geosciences (such as, but not limited to, sed/strat, paleo-geosciences, structure, etc.) or environmental geosciences (such as, but not limited to, environmental/aqueous geochemistry, hydrogeology, soil/critical zone science, environmental modeling, environmental geophysics (Petrel), etc.). We welcome applicants whose expertise complements that of existing faculty in the Department of Earth and Environmental Geosciences and who can collaborate with other units on campus, such as the Environmental Science and Sustainability program and/or the Voinovich School. The successful applicant will contribute to developing an innovative, inclusive, and equitable curriculum and programs grounded in high-quality mentoring and engaging online and traditional curricula. The successful applicant will have opportunities to mentor undergraduates in a newly renovated lab space with a modest development fund, annual faculty discretionary fund, and conference travel support. Candidates who have experience working with a diverse range of faculty, staff, and students, and who can contribute to the climate of inclusivity are encouraged to identify their experiences in these areas.

  3. Statement of teaching interests and philosophy, uploaded under the document type of “Other.”
