Job Details
The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a post-doctoral researcher to study the effects of chemical diffusion on magma compositions during melting and disequilibrium transport by porous flow. The successful candidate will be expected to assist with model development and testing, building on an existing python forward modeling code package that determines partial melt compositions in a decompressing regime. The position is for 18 months.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Geoscience, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
- Prior research experience in applied computational methods and coding.
- Basic understanding of Earth Science principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated interest and knowledge about magmatic systems, radioactive isotope tracer methods, porous flow, two phase flow, or chemical diffusion.
- Experience designing and writing code to numerically solve differential equations in applied science fields.
- Experience with version control software.
