Postdoctoral Research Associate - Renewable Energy and Environmental Sustainability
O’neill School Of Public And Environmental Affairs
Indiana University, Bloomington
The Environmental Change & Sustainability Lab, housed in the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University Bloomington, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team and contribute to cutting-edge research at the nexus of renewable energy development, land use change, and greenhouse gas emissions.
The successful candidate will work closely with PI Dr. Rafael Almeida and an interdisciplinary team of collaborators, focusing on regional and global-scale analyses of benefits and impacts of renewable energy projects on land use and the climate. They will also explore how integrating solar power with other uses (e.g., aquavoltaics and agrivoltaics) can mitigate negative environmental externalities from expanding renewable energy, advancing practical solutions in the field. Beyond this primary focus, the postdoctoral associate will be encouraged to pursue novel research topics and will receive substantial support for professional development.
In addition to leading high-impact research, the postdoctoral associate will play a key role in ongoing lab projects, actively mentor both graduate and undergraduate students, and contribute to the development of research proposals and collaborative projects.
This is an in-person position based at Indiana University’s main campus in Bloomington, located 50 miles southwest of Indianapolis.
