The Division of Geological and Planetary Sciences at Caltech has two open faculty positions:
Tenure-track Faculty Position in Atmospheric Sciences at Caltech
The California Institute of Technology invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in atmospheric sciences, including but not limited to atmospheric chemistry and composition, mechanisms of climate change, weather and climate extremes as well as cloud dynamics and microphysics. We seek candidates who will join our vibrant program in environmental and climate sciences and complement our existing strengths. Candidates with strong commitments to both research and teaching excellence are encouraged to apply. The initial appointment at the assistant professor level is contingent upon completion of a PhD in a relevant field. Exceptionally well-qualified applicants at the associate and full professor level may also be considered.

Tenure Track Faculty Position in Planetary Science at Caltech
The Division of Geological and Planetary Sciences at the California Institute of Technology is seeking applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in planetary science.
The initial appointment at the assistant professor level is contingent upon completion of a PhD in a relevant field. Exceptionally well-qualified candidates may also be considered at the associate and full professor level. Interested applicants should submit an electronic application, which includes (i) a curriculum vitae that includes a list of publications, (ii) a statement of proposed research activities not exceeding 3 pages, (iii) an education statement that addresses the applicant’s thoughts on classroom and laboratory instruction, mentorship of students and postdoctoral scholars, and ways to foster an inclusive, equitable environment for the development of scholars who come to Caltech with many different backgrounds and experiences (up to 2 pages), (iv) 2-3 select first-author publications, and (v) three letters of recommendation. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled and reviews are anticipated to begin on October 15, 2024.
