The Brown University School of Public Health is seeking to hire an Associate or Full Professor for a tenure-track faculty position focused on climate and health. The position will be available for a July 1, 2025 start date.
The faculty member hired to this position will engage in a combination of research, education, and other strategic activities, including participating in Brown University’s Equitable Climate Futures Initiative (https://ecf.brown.edu/). The ideal candidate will strive to be a thought leader on public health solutions to address climate inaction and to mitigate adverse health consequences of the changing climate through education, rigorous research, and advocacy. The successful candidate will be expected to sustain and grow an externally funded research program relevant to climate and health. Areas of potential interest include: 1) studying the health impact of climate policies at the regional, national, or global level, 2) examining and addressing disparities in vulnerability to climate change, including the social determinants of health 3) novel data science or epidemiologic methodologies to study climate change, and 4) developing and testing approaches to modify human behavior as it relates to climate adaptation and resilience.
Primary appointment will be in one of the four departments of the School of Public Health (Behavioral and Social Sciences, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or Health Services, Policy, & Practice), with a joint appointment in the Institute at Brown for Environment and Society, Brown’s campus-wide home for interdisciplinary scholarship in climate, sustainability, and the environment.
