The Department of Biological Sciences at Kent State University seeks a post-doctoral research associate to join a US EPA funded Great Lakes Restoration Initiative project evaluating the effectiveness of restored wetlands on water quality improvement. The successful candidate will evaluate the outcomes of diverse wetland restoration and management approaches for water quality improvement to directly inform decisions made by state agencies and conservation organizations. The candidate will join a dynamic, supportive research group with opportunities for collaboration across disciplines and engagement with state policy makers, stakeholders, and public audiences. This position is primarily supervised by Lauren Kinsman-Costello, lkinsman@kent.edu.
Qualifications:
A PhD in Ecology, Hydrology, Earth Sciences, Data Science, Statistics or a related field (or other related terminal degree, for example: MLIS in data science). Strong history of collaborative scientific work. Supervision experience. Experience with the creation of scientific products. Aptitude for data management and programming (R and/or Python).
