The Department of Geography and Resource Management at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is seeking an exceptional candidate for the post of Research Assistant Professor. We are particularly interested in applicants with expertise in hydrology and geo-spatial data science, with a scholarly focus on hydrometeorological extremes using artificial intelligence and big data.

Applicants should possess (i) a PhD degree; (ii) a strong academic background in at least one of the following areas: geography, hydrology, geospatial and big data analytics, or a related field; and (iii) demonstrated outstanding research and scholarly works in the relevant fields, showcasing potential for research excellence.

The appointee will (a) conduct independent research, (b) collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on relevant research projects, and (c) undertake teaching and academic administrative service.

Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to performance, funding availability, and mutual agreement.
